Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing sponsors the 21st Conference by the Bay March 20 in Rehoboth Beach

Dementia will be the focus of the 21st Conference by the Bay to take place Friday, March 20, at the Atlantic Sands hotel in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare is sponsoring this popular educational event for nurses and allied health professionals. The title of this year’s event is, “Nursing Update 2015: Managing Dementia in 2015.” The conference speaker is Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA.

Teepa is a nationally renowned speaker who is an occupational therapist working as a dementia care and dementia educational specialist. She has more than 33 years of clinical experience in the field of geriatrics and dementia care. She has an independent practice, as well as clinical appointments with Duke University’s School of Nursing and UNC-CH School of Medicine. The program topics are:
 Recognizing and Assessing Medical and Health Emergencies When Dementia is Part of the Picture
 Enhancing Mobility and Decreasing Fall Risks
 Improving Our Care in the Hospital Setting: From ER to Discharge

The event begins with registration and exhibitors at 7:15 a.m. The conference will begin at 7:55 a.m. The cost to register is: $110 for general registration; $85 for Beebe Healthcare employees and retirees; and $75 for full-time nursing students. Registration forms must be completed by March 6 or there will be a $20 late fee. Beebe Healthcare will award 6.0 contact hours via certificate of the completion of the program. Beebe Healthcare is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Delaware Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare, is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware, and is accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), formerly NLNAC. The diploma in Professional Nursing is awarded at the completion of the curriculum, qualifying graduates to be eligible for National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX examination, leading to licensure. Beebe graduates consistently have high NCLEX pass rates and can complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Wilmington University and the University of Delaware through well-defined articulation agreements.
