Respiratory Care Practioner II (Casual)

Job Type:  Casual


Variable Schedule, 7AM- 7PM / 7PM - 7AM, Weekly.

All new hires must have current license in the State of Delaware.

Current CPR training with recertification every 2 years. Ability to perform CPR.

Required certfications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS.

Graduate with certificate of completion from a Joint Review Committee for Respiratory Therapy Education (JRCRTE) program. Registry from the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (if at the time of employment an individual is registry eligible and has attained CRT designation, they will be given one year to achieve registry. )

Following one year, the individual will be considered an RCPI until registry is successfully completed. Demonstrated clinical competence in patient care. Good ability to communicate written and verbally. Professional growth through continuing education activities. Occasional ability to respond to and withstand crisis situations. Must complete Point of Care Testing training as part of General Orientation. To provide basic respiratory care to newborns through geriatrics. Responsibilities include critical care, general patient care assignments, and related patient care plans where assignments and duties are predominately predictable. The RCPII will develop routine policies and procedures and monitor basic quality assurance studies conducted by RCP I's, including direct involvement in data collection. The RCP II is a mid-level practice RCP, with basic assessment and therapeutic skills in multiple patient populations, and advanced assessment/Skills in select areas or age groups. The RCP II is expected to have higher knowledge, skill, and abilities level than the RCP I based on the successful completion of the registry exam. The RCP II is expected to routinely perform and interact as a professional. The RCP II can handle most circumstances that may arise pertaining to respiratory care with minimal supervision. Clinical Practice - Administers respiratory care therapeutics, diagnostic services, and leads team members when assigned charge with skill and proficiency. Routinely integrates knowledge, skills and experience to promote optimum care for the patient.
