Gregory Spana, MD, is a board certified Urologist who is fellowship-trained in robotic surgery and minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Spana’s areas of special interest are prostate, kidney, and bladder cancers, and kidney stones. Dr. Spana is a member of Beebe’s Medical Staff and practices independently in the community. He performs procedures at the Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus and the Specialty Surgical Hospital at the Abessinio Health Campus.

Education, Training, and Credentialing

Dr. Spana completed a residency in Urology and General Surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York after earning his Doctor of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He also completed a Fellowship in robotic and advanced laparoscopic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. He’s published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals and co-authored a book chapter on Renal Masses. He is a member of the American Urologic Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, and the Endourological Society.

Earlier Work Experiences

After being trained at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic for his fellowship, Dr. Spana was a staff urologist at Bayhealth in Dover before becoming a partner of Urology Associates of Delaware, PA in 2014.
