Treating Disorders of the Endocrine System

Beebe Healthcare offers a continuum of care for patients with endocrine disorders and illnesses related to the thyroid gland. This team of endocrine specialists works closely with primary care physicians in the region. An endocrinologist diagnoses and treats issues that may arise with your endocrine system or with the hormones in your system. For some, these hormone problems can cause complications and ongoing illness. Hormones regulate metabolism, respiration, growth, reproduction, sensory perception, and movement. Hormone imbalances are the underlying reason for a wide range of medical conditions.

Her Body Was Asking For Help

Ellie Nazemoff was a successful executive in Washington, D.C. From the outside, she looked vibrant, healthy, and successful. However, inside, Ellie could feel her body screaming for help.

She knew she was sick and needed to talk to a doctor. She turned to the team at Beebe Endocrinology.

Treating Disorders of the Thyroid and Parathyroid

Endocrinologists are specially trained physicians who diagnose diseases related to the glands, such as menopause, diabetes, metabolic disorders, osteoporosis, thyroid diseases, cancers of the endocrine glands, and more. Patients who may be having endocrine system concerns or may have diseases of the thyroid or parathyroid will likely start with their primary care physician. During a scheduled appointment, the patient may mention issues that could be related to the endocrine system. The primary care provider then orders tests.

Once testing is completed and results are returned, the primary care physician may determine that the patient should see a specialist. One of the Beebe Endocrinology specialists, will meet with and evaluate you. A course of action would be determined and regular follow-up visits created. In addition to seeing the specialist, the patient will also continue to have appointments and annual exams with the primary care physician.
