Beebe Healthcare Team Members Support Patient Care Through Philanthropy
This spring the Beebe Medical Foundation launched a new employee giving campaign - The Giving Hands Society. This society is an opportunity for all Beebe team members to give back to the community by participating in giving to the Annual Fund of the Beebe Medical Foundation. To become a member of the Giving Hands Society, a Beebe team member can make a donation of any amount. In honor of Beebe Healthcare’s centennial year, Beebe team members who donate a minimum of $100 a year or more receive a commemorative 100th pin and magnet. One hundred percent of all proceeds will be given to Beebe Healthcare’s programs and services of greatest need, unless otherwise designated.
Beebe Medical Group office coordinators have taken the lead on this initiative with 100% team member participation! Patricia Holland, Manager, Patient Access, said, “We are proud to be the first group of Beebe team members to reach 100% giving. We hope to inspire all Beebe Healthcare team members and practices to participate in the Giving Hands Society, striving to achieve 100% participation within their department and offices.”
Beebe Medical Group, the employed physician medical group under Beebe Healthcare, continues its expansion, and is comprised of 19 medical specialties in 28 locations throughout southern Delaware, with more than 110 medical providers and over 175 support staff.
Beebe Medical Group providers comprise the specialties of cardiac surgery, dermatology, endocrinology, family practice, gastroenterology, internal medicine, otolaryngology, pediatric neurology, surgical oncology, and vascular services. Hospital-based providers include: the Hospitalist division and its nurse practitioners; the Observation Unit nurse practitioners; and Dr. Abraham Scheer, the Board-Certified neurologist who oversees Beebe’s accredited Stroke Center. Beebe Medical Group also staffs Beebe Walk-In Care locations in Rehoboth Beach, Millville, Millsboro, and Georgetown.
“It is a wonderful sign of strong support when Beebe team members give back to Beebe, their local non-profit community healthcare system,” said Tom Protack, Vice President of Development for Beebe Medical Foundation. “We are very grateful for the accessibility, the excellent care and our outstanding clinicians. We know Beebe is always here, not only for us, but for our families and friends. Our donating to Beebe makes Beebe even stronger. The level of participation of Beebe team members is growing every day and the Giving Hands Society 100 magnets and pins are seen all over our health campuses.”
Our employees understand that without the support of our local community, Beebe Healthcare will not be able to accommodate the growing needs of Sussex County. We also understand we need to be leaders in the fundraising efforts of the Beebe Medical Foundation. I am proud to see that the Beebe Medical Group’s office coordinators team has reached 100% participation in the Giving Hands Society.
As a community-owned, not-for-profit healthcare system, Beebe continues to depend on the generous support of individuals, corporations, businesses, and private foundations. All gifts, large or small, to Beebe Healthcare are tax deductible and are channeled through Beebe Medical Foundation.
