Beebe Healthcare Forms a New Amputee Support Group

Beebe Healthcare and Beebe Vascular are proud to offer a community amputee support group. The purpose of this group is to provide peer support, networking, and educational opportunities for people who have experienced limb loss, their families and support people. This group is open to everyone regardless of where or when they experienced limb loss.

“Peer support is an effective way to assist those who are coping with limb loss. Often, we find the best results come from peers working together because no one is better suited to discuss limb loss than those going through the same journey. We plan to have educational opportunities along with time to discuss any issues and concerns group members may have,” said Kathy Cannatelli, Nurse Practitioner, Beebe Vascular.

Brian Smith, a prosthetist in serving the area, will be at the first meeting to address any concerns or questions participants may have on fitting and living with prosthetics. The group plans to meet the second Tuesday of each month. The first meeting will be Tuesday, June 13, at 4 p.m. at Beebe Vascular, 33664 Bayview Medical Drive, Unit 2, Lewes. Participants do not need to be a patient of Beebe Vascular to participate in the support group.
