Beebe Healthcare Medical Staff Announces School of Nursing Scholarship Recipients

Beebe Medical Staff presents scholarship to nursing student.

The Medical Staff at Beebe Healthcare recognizes the support of nursing education as a very important component of its mission in the promotion and delivery of healthcare in Sussex County.

The School of Nursing has a long and proud history and tradition of excellence in nursing education and remains the only community hospital-based institution in the State of Delaware to continue to fulfill this mission.

The Medical Staff created the Nursing Scholar’s Program to support the nursing education of eligible candidates in the School of Nursing which includes the candidate’s expressed intention of working in our community after graduation.

The Scholarship recognizes exceptional clinical performance in nursing, in accordance with the criteria established by the Students Services Committee of the School of Nursing.

Two senior students are the recipients of the scholarship this year: Hannah Bristow from Laurel, Del. and Megan Pusey from Frankford, Del. Both Hannah and Megan plan to seek employment at Beebe Healthcare.

These students chose to attend the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing because of its reputation of a rigorous program with graduates who have excellent clinical skills. In addition they both recognize that the School of Nursing has a consistently high pass rate on the Registered Nurse licensure exam. Both Hannah and Megan plan to continue their education after graduation with an ultimate goal of completing a Master’s degree in Nursing.

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare, is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware, and is accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The diploma in Professional Nursing is awarded at the completion of the curriculum, qualifying graduates to be eligible for National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX examination, leading to licensure as a registered nurse. Beebe graduates consistently have high NCLEX pass rates.
