Beebe Healthcare Selects Firms as part of Integrated Project Design Approach for Expansion Plans

Beebe Healthcare has selected the construction, design and engineering firms which will help create the next generation of care. Beebe will be using an Integrated Project Design (IPD) approach with its expansion plans. Under this model of IPD, all firms including construction manager, architect, mechanical engineer and civil engineer, work together with Beebe Healthcare and the community in mind. The benefits of this model are that all the parties come together in a more collaborative, comprehensive way, so there is less disconnect throughout the process and any issues that arise can be addressed at the time of design.

Beebe Healthcare has chosen Whiting-Turner as the construction manager firm. The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company provides preconstruction, construction management, general contracting, design-build and integrated project delivery services for commercial, industrial, public and private projects. Since its first Delaware project in 1950, its reputation for integrity and dedication to customer delight has been the foundation for successful construction projects for its clients.

Beebe Healthcare selected as the architectural firm, Wilmot Sanz, a mid-sized, family-owned firm located outside of Washington, DC. A proven leader in healthcare design, Wilmot Sanz specializes in architecture and interior design. Their mission is to improve complex healthcare environments through implementing excellent client service, supported with high-performing resources and cutting-edge technology. They have decades-long relationships with some of the nation’s top healthcare providers, each encompassing dozens of projects ranging from minor renovations to replacement hospitals.

The mechanical engineer selected is Leach Wallace Associates, Inc. Leach Wallace has provided comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and energy systems engineering design services for healthcare clients for more than 25 years. The team assembled for the expansion projects with Beebe Healthcare brings a unique perspective and an unmatched level of expertise to healthcare systems design. The project team will be led by Mike Lamdin, a Senior Vice President with Leach Wallace, who has more than 23 years of healthcare system design experience.

Beebe Healthcare selected Becker Morgan Group as the Civil Engineer firm for the expansion project to work in collaboration with the other selected entities. Becker Morgan Group is a full service design firm specializing in architecture, engineering, surveying, land planning and interior design. Since its founding in 1983, Becker Morgan Group has been committed to responsive customer service, design excellence, and problem solving utilizing creative yet functional design. Its dynamic team of multi-disciplined professionals provides design solutions that contribute to the quality of your built environment while achieving your project’s specific goals.

At the start of the project, Beebe Healthcare retained Hammes Company to serve as Project Manager. Hammes Company has demonstrated national perspective while bringing a level of regional experience to project management. Their ability to maintain focus on the Beebe vision, proactively lead the process for three major campus initiatives, and identify creative options will ensure the success of our projects.

“These partners have demonstrated a commitment to a true partnership mentality that will assure success. Their out-of-the-box thinking will bring true innovation to the delivery of healthcare to the growing number people we serve in our region,” says Rick Schaffner, Executive Vice President and COO, Beebe Healthcare.
