Beebe Medical Foundation Names Thomas J. Protack to the Position of Vice President of Development

The Beebe Medical Foundation has promoted Thomas J. Protack to Vice President of Development. He has served as the Foundation’s Director of Development for two years.

“I am pleased to announce this promotion. Tom has been instrumental in overseeing our Development Team, which has doubled our fundraising revenue and added many new opportunities to engage our donors,” said Judy Aliquo, President and CEO of Beebe Medical Foundation.

“As the Foundation looks ahead to our largest capital campaign ever for the new expansion project on our Lewes campus, Tom, in his new position, will help guide our increased strategic fundraising efforts in the years ahead and our growing Foundation Team. Tom is a wonderful colleague and has brought so many talents that support our mission of raising funds for Beebe Healthcare. He is a familiar face to so many here in Sussex County and will help our Foundation grow even stronger in future years.”

Beebe Medical Foundation was established in 1989 with the sole mission to raise philanthropic support for Beebe Healthcare. Over the past 25 years, it has raised more than $60 million. Their most recent fundraising project was the completion of the $10 million Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing new building. Mr. Protack and Mrs. Aliquo, as its leadership team, will continue to work together to spread the vision and mission of Beebe Healthcare. They will thank and learn from legacy donors, cultivate new donors and continue to reach into Sussex County by attending community events and gatherings to increase participation in the Foundation’s giving opportunities. They also look forward to continuing to meet many of Beebe’s “Summer Friends.” “Summer Friends” are donors who call the Delaware beaches their home during the summer months and use Beebe services.

Mr. Protack also will continue to oversee the celebrations for Beebe’s 100th anniversary in 2016 along with Leanne Prosser, 100th Anniversary Coordinator, and invite the community to participate in the many 100th anniversary projects and activities. “Helping to raise awareness about the need to support our local non-profit community hospital is an honor,” Mr. Protack said. “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this new capacity and help meet the needs of Beebe Healthcare’s constant growth. I am honored to be part of an amazing team and am very excited about our new expansion projects in the future. Every day at the Foundation we engage donors and supporters who truly believe in Beebe and celebrate their gratitude with the joy of giving,” Mr. Protack said. “We truly have a culture of gratitude! Beebe has met the needs of the community for 100 years and will continue to need the support of the community in the future.”

Mr. Protack has worked closely with the Boards of Beebe Healthcare and the Beebe Medical Foundation, and the Foundation’s Board of Ambassadors to raise awareness and financial support for Beebe and the health services that it provides. He has overseen the Beebe Annual Giving Fund and the major fundraising events that have attracted so many supporters. Those events included the new Beebe Beach Bash, which kicked off the 2015 summer season with over 650 donors, four golf tournaments, and the community’s black-tie event of the year, the Beebe Ball. Protack and Aliquo established the 1916 Club, a leadership giving society, for donors who commit to donating $1,916, or more, annually to Beebe. The 1916 Club has grown to 145 members and 1916 Club car magnets and pins can be seen throughout Sussex County.

Before joining the Foundation, Mr. Protack served as Community Engagement Director of Sussex County Habitat for Humanity and is well known throughout Delaware for his commitment to improving the lives of others. He has had a lifetime of community service.

The Beebe Medical Foundation is located in the original family home of Dr. Richard Beebe which was relocated to 902 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958. To learn more about supporting the Foundation, events or volunteer opportunities, please call 302-644-9200 or go to /foundation.
