Beebe Medical Foundation Seeks Volunteers for 2015 Fundraising Events
Beebe Medical Foundation is seeking volunteers and sponsors to take part in its 2015 fundraising events that support Beebe Healthcare’s programs and services offered at the Medical Center in Lewes and at Beebe outpatient locations in Rehoboth Beach, Millville, Millsboro, Georgetown and Milton.
Last year, Foundation-sponsored events raised more than $600,000 that supported such services as 3D Mammography, rocking chairs and bassinettes for Women’s Health, free health screenings throughout Sussex County, and financial assistance for cancer patients.
“These events are a way for us to support and grow the healthcare services Beebe provides our community. They also give all of us an opportunity to get to know each other and to truly be a part of our community,” says Judy Aliquo, President and CEO of Beebe Medical Foundation. “We appreciate each and every person who gives so generously of their time and their philanthropic support to make these events successful. Beebe could not provide the excellent care that it does without the support of so many people.”
The newest fundraising event will take place in June when Beebe Medical Foundation partners with the Cape May Lewes Ferry to throw the biggest party of the summer, the Beebe Beach Bash!
Beebe will take over the entire Lewes Ferry Terminal grounds, including a docked Ferry, with the purpose of funding new technologies in Beebe’s Emergency Department. The event will include three distinctive parties in one venue. The Fabulous Greaseband® and Scott Mason as Dame Edna will entertain partygoers. Of course there will be food, drinks, table games, old movies and more.
This year’s Beebe Ball, themed The Boardwalk Empire, will take place at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center raising funds to purchase surgical equipment for Beebe operating rooms. Our stylish speakeasy will close out the year with a bang!
Treat the Beat, a certified 5K Run/Walk, will take participants through beautiful downtown Lewes in support of our Cardiac programs.
Holiday of Life will provide people with the opportunity to recognize those who have touched their lives with luminaria that light up the grounds of the medical center.
The funds raised through the purchase of the luminaria will support Women’s Health.
The Charitable Golf Classic Series, which raises funds for various needs at the Tunnell Cancer Center, features the Ruddo Golf Classic on May 8, the 10th Annual Baywood Classic on June 3, the 12th Annual Progress for Prostate Tournament on June 25, and The 16th Annual Jean and Joan Tournament on September 28.
Beebe, in partnership with 9114HNC and the Rehoboth Art League, will present Courage Unmasked at the Rehoboth Art League. This event features the masks of nearly 60 head, neck, and throat cancer patients’ that have been transformed into beautiful pieces of art by local artists. The masks will be auctioned off to support head, neck, and throat cancer patients at the Tunnell Cancer Center.
Beebe Healthcare’s Historic Maker will be unveiled this fall to kick-off Beebe’s 100th Anniversary Celebration. We will invite the community to this special event to recognize Beebe and the century of care it has provided.
