When: Saturday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to noon

Where: At the School, behind the Medical Center in downtown Lewes

Who: Those interested in entering the field of nursing

Registration is recommended. To register or learn more about the event, call the School of Nursing at (302) 645-3251.

Admissions Chairperson Alison Watson, EdD, MSN, RN, will hold information sessions every half hour to discuss opportunities at the School of Nursing, with the final session at 11:30 a.m. The School offers a two-year, four-semester curriculum beginning each August.

The School of Nursing’s comprehensive nursing curriculum provides education in basic nursing concepts, advanced technology, and critical care nursing. Optimal hands-on clinical experience is provided due to its proximity to Beebe Healthcare’s Medical Center. The new School of Nursing building, with state-of-the-art classrooms and simulation labs, opened in July 2015.

Pre-requisite college courses are required prior to enrollment in the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing program. The school’s partnership with the University of Delaware Associate in Arts Program (AAP) allows qualified students to take their prerequisite courses through the University of Delaware’s AAP program. Representatives from the university will also be available at the open house.

This pathway will enable a student to simultaneously earn their diploma in nursing as well as their Associate in Arts degree and ultimately their baccalaureate degree.

Candidates may be eligible for SEED (Student Excellence Equals Degree) funding in their first year.

Upon completion, graduates are well prepared for RN licensure and entry-level nursing practice. Agreements with the University of Delaware, Wilmington University, and Wesley College offer students the opportunity to obtain a bachelor’s degree and/or a master’s degree.

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare, is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware, and is accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The diploma in Professional Nursing is awarded at the completion of the curriculum, qualifying graduates to be eligible for National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX examination, leading to licensure as a registered nurse. Beebe graduates consistently have high NCLEX pass rates. For more information on the School of Nursing, go to Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing.
