American Association of Integrative Medicine honors Cheyenne Luzader of Beebe Healthcare

Cheyenne Luzader, MS, Integrative Health Coordinator at Beebe Healthcare, has been awarded Fellow status in the American Association of Integrative Medicine (AAIM).
Fellow status is AAIM’s highest honor and is reserved for those individuals whose knowledge, skill, education, training, and experience in their health care specialty exceed the requirements of the other levels of membership of AAIM. Members attaining Fellow status are committed to ongoing education in their field and maintaining high professional standards of behavior.
Cheyenne began the Integrative Health program at Beebe Healthcare in 1997, establishing the first such program in a Delaware hospital. As part of the program, Ms. Luzader educates inpatients, outpatients and staff about complementary and alternative therapies and, when requested, helps some patients with stress and pain management. Before starting the Integrative Health program, Ms. Luzader, who has a Master of Science Degree in Counseling, counseled patients in mental health, addictions, and hospice programs. She also has been an adjunct professor with Wilmington University for more than 30 years teaching anthropology, psychology and Native American studies.
Ms. Luzader is a diplomate with the Association of Comprehensive Energy Psychology, a certified thanatologist with the Association for Death Education Counseling, a state licensed acupuncture detoxification specialist, a tobacco treatment specialist, and an herb information specialist. She is trained in several alternative and complementary therapies including: mindfulness-based stress reduction; biofeedback; hypnosis; neuro-linguistics programming; emotional freedom technique; acupressure; Reiki; therapeutic touch; and Hawaiian healing methods.
Ms. Luzader has been an AAIM member since 2009 and has served on the editorial review board for American Association of Integrative Medicine Journal.

AAIM is an international membership association developed to bring together health care professionals from a variety of health care specialties. Membership is comprised of integrative, alternative, holistic, complementary and traditional health care professionals. This forum allows members to share information in an effort to increase both public and professional knowledge and acceptance of integrative medicine thereby, benefiting the patient as well as the practitioner.
