Beebe Medical Foundation Announces Winner of the Jeep Wrangler Donated by Megee Motors

The Beebe Medical Foundation kicked off the New Year with giving away a brand new Jeep Wrangler donated by Megee Motors in Georgetown. On Sunday, January 3, raffle ticket sales volunteers, members of the Foundation Staff, Board Members, hospital staff and the three generations of the Megee Family gathered to pull the winning ticket. With the help of Terry and Vanessa Megee’s granddaughters, the winning ticket was pulled. The winner was Elizabeth (Beth) Ennis from Lewes, Delaware.

Judy L. Aliquo, President and CEO of Beebe Medical Foundation, called the number listed on the winning ticket and Beth’s Dad, Dave Ennis, answered in a bit of disbelief. Not soon after, an excited Beth quickly responded, “I will be right down to pick it up!”

Beth’s father purchased six tickets and put each of his three children’s names on them, one for his wife and two for him. Dave was thrilled and said it could not have come at a better time. His daughter was looking for a new vehicle and he advised her, “Don’t buy a new vehicle until after that drawing; I have a good feeling about it.”

Beth is thrilled to be the winner and said, “I feel great that all the monies raised are going to Tunnell Cancer Center. All of our families in some way have been touched by cancer, and I am honored to be the recipient of this Jeep. Beebe does so much for our community.”

Terry and Vanessa Megee remarked, “This has been an exciting time for all of us. We will never know for sure the ripple effect this has produced. So many people became aware of our award winning Cancer Center and the need to support Beebe Healthcare, our local nonprofit community healthcare system. As a family, we are honored to give this gift to support Beebe, especially during this special year celebrating 100 years of caring.”

Tom Protack, Vice President of Development for Beebe Medical Foundation, reported that more than $31,000 was raised in the past five months. Tom added, “We had a wonderful group of volunteers who organized the logistics, sold tickets at community events throughout Sussex County and made it a true success! Giving this gift away in the beginning of Beebe’s 100th Anniversary Year is a great way to start off a year of true celebration!”
