Beebe Medical Foundation presents Dr. Anis Saliba Scholarship to Angela Baker

Angela Baker, Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing student, was selected as this year’s recipient for the Dr. Anis Saliba Scholarship. This year’s award was $875 and will go toward school expenses.

This endowment was initiated by Dr. Anis and Susan Saliba in 2017 and is awarded annually for the fall semester to a senior student in Beebe Healthcare’s Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing. Dr. Saliba joined the Medical Staff at Beebe Healthcare as a surgeon in 1968, joined the Beebe Medical Center Board of Directors in 1988, and served as Chief of Staff for many years before retiring as a private practice surgeon in 2003. He continues to serve on the Board of Directors and is an Honorary Member of the Medical Staff.

Angela, a Georgetown resident, was selected by the N102 team and then approved by the Student Services Committee. She currently has the highest academic average in her nursing class. She worked as a nurse extern this summer on the orthopaedic unit where she cared for both orthopaedic and medical-surgical patients. She graduated valedictorian from Delmarva Christian High School.

“Angela is quietly efficient in both class and clinical. The N102 team described Angela as being very organized, able to multi-task, very teachable, and enjoyed caring for med-surg patients,” said Tracy Bell, MS, RN, Program Coordinator, Beebe’s Margaret H. “The Dr. and Mrs. Saliba Scholarship Endowment is the perfect marriage of Dr. Saliba’s commitment to supporting healthcare and Sue Saliba’s commitment to supporting education. We are so grateful for their generosity in creating this endowment fund, making it possible for students such as Angela to complete their nursing education.” says Judy Aliquo, President & CEO of Beebe Medical Foundation.
