Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
Nurses and cardiologists will be on hand at Beebe Healthcare’s first Cardiac Screening & Educational Event to take place 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 25, at Bear Trap Dunes.
Those who wish to receive a risk assessment screening for heart disease should telephone Beebe Healthcare at (302) 645-FAST (3278) and chose option 6.
Community health nurses with Beebe’s Population Health Department will carry out American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology Cardiovascular Risk Assessments. People identified to be at risk for heart disease will have an opportunity to speak with a cardiologist.
A light continental breakfast will be served. Bear Trap Dunes is located at 7 Clubhouse Drive, Ocean View, Delaware.
Cardiovascular disease, which includes heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure, is still the number 1 killer of both men and women in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
