The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing offers nursing assistant course to begin October 20

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare is planning a nursing assistant course beginning Monday, October 20, 2014, and ending January 8, 2015.  The class will consist of classroom time, skills labs and clinical experience to meet the requirements for the student to sit for the State of Delaware Certification Examination for Nursing Assistants.

The classroom and skills lab portion of the class will be held at the school on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 9:30 pm.  Once the students have successfully completed the classroom and skills lab portion, they will move on to the clinical placement which will be held in a local, long-term-care facility.  The clinical experience will be on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 6:50 am to 3:30 pm for nine days.

The cost of the program is $1,900, which includes the cost of the course and clinical fees, textbook and the nursing assistant certification examination fee. It does not cover the cost of fingerprinting ($69.00), CPR online ($23.00), uniforms and food.

In order to enroll in the program, the student must have a high school diploma (or GED) and successfully complete the Criminal Background, OIG, Adult and Child Registry checks and a drug screen.
