The 13th Annual JEAN & JOAN CANCER FUND golf tournament will take place at Kings Creek Country Club on Tuesday, October 2. Tickets to this charity event may be purchased by calling the Kings Creek Golf Shop at (302) 227-8953. Credit card charges are accepted.
The event includes green and cart fees, lunch, a memorial gift, snacks, soft drinks and adult beverages on the course, skill prizes, a cocktail hour and dinner. The format is a four-person scramble and individual players will be matched with a foursome by the golf professional.
This year State Representative Pete Schwartzkopf will again serve as honorary chairman. Major sponsors are Kings Creek Country Club and SPI-Pharma in Lewes. SPI-Pharma has again sponsored the Hole-in-One and putting contest with a cash prize of $20,000 and $10,000 to the winner.
The JEAN & JOAN CANCER FUND was founded in 1999 to raise funds for cancer patients at the Tunnell Cancer Center. Since the first tournament in 2000, this event has donated more than a third of a million dollars for cancer patient care at the Center.
In the last few years, the JEAN & JOAN CANCER FUND has focused on transporting cancer patients to the Center. Since 2010, vans that the JEAN & JOAN CANCER FUND has purchased have carried 4,496 remote and needy patients to the center for their treatments and procedures for a total of 143,300 miles.
This is a unique opportunity to support a local charity and enjoy a day of golf at one of the finest and exclusive golf clubs in the area.
