Beebe Medical Center Honors Joanna Robertson with the “You Make a Difference” Award

a nurse on the third floor medical-surgical unit at Beebe Medical Center, has been honored with the You make a Difference Award for January 2012. Joanna has been recognized for her tireless work toward improving patient care by leading an effort to institute the evidence-based practice Bedside Reporting. The practice is a patient-centered initiative that allows the patient to participate in the nurses' routine shift-change reporting process.

Beebe Team Member Patricia Houston Presents at National Conference

Patty Houston, RN, MPH, M.Ed, the Bariatric Program coordinator at Beebe Medical Center, was recently invited to speak at the Infusion Nurses Society conference in Los Angeles, CA. Patty gave a one-hour presentation on intravenous (IV) access for bariatric surgery patients. Bariatric surgery is designed to aid in weight loss as it changes the digestive system's anatomy so that the overweight or obese patient consumes less. Excess weight is a risk factor for several diseases.
