Hip Replacements

Total hip replacements replace damaged joints and are effective in eliminating or reducing one’s pain and increasing mobility. Two common approaches to hip replacements are posterior and anterior hip replacements. Anterior hip replacements offer many benefits to patients, including less pain and faster recovery. However, the anterior approach is more difficult to perform due to the surgeon’s limited view. Beebe’s Dr. Cameron Yau is specially trained in anterior approaches to hip replacement.

Knee Surgery

Each year, surgeons perform about 790,000 total knee replacement surgeries. The procedure is also quite successful: More than 90 percent of total knee replacements still function well after 15 years. People of all ages can benefit from a knee replacement. The procedure is most often performed in older persons with osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. But it may also be necessary for a young person with early onset arthritis. In addition, knee replacement can treat post-traumatic arthritis, which can happen after a serious knee injury. At Beebe Healthcare, our orthopaedic care team specializes in total knee replacement surgery.

Spine Surgery

Surgery is necessary in 10 to 15 percent of cases of back and neck pain. Common surgical procedures performed at Beebe include the following:

  • Minimally invasive spine surgery
  • Spinal cord stimulators
  • Microdiscectomy
  • Laminectomy
  • Lumbar decompression
  • Spinal fusion
  • Spinal decompression
  • Anterior cervical disc replacements
  • Complex reconstructive spine surgery

Whether it is a torn ACL from a pick-up basketball game, a torn ligament in your shoulder from an aggressive game of pickleball, or just an injury you sustained during your weekly yoga class, Beebe's sports medicine physicians and care providers will get you back to your active lifestyle quickly.
