Women's Health - Gynecologic Surgery
Beebe Healthcare is proud to be the first hospital in Delaware and on the Delmarva Peninsula – and one of only 15 in the United States – to be named a Center of Excellence in Women’s Health by the American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery (AIMIS). In addition, both Steven Berlin, MD, and Leo Eschbach, Jr., DO, have been recognized and accredited in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including laparoscopic hysterectomy. These procedures have been certified by AIMIS, meaning patient outcomes and protocols meet the highest standards.
Beebe offers robotically assisted women's health surgery using the latest in robotic technology - the da Vinci Xi. Specially trained and certified surgeons perform a variety of procedures - both minimally invasive, traditional, and robotically assisted.
Beebe's Surgery teams complete procedures in 12 operating rooms at the Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus and at Beebe Outpatient Surgery Center at Beebe's Rehoboth Health Campus. Improving Surgery Recovery through Education, Teamwork: ERAS: The Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program aims to improve surgical outcomes through patient and care team education and changes to how surgical patients are cared for. The ERAS team also developed pre-operative booklets that helps patients and their families understand what to expect before, during, and after surgery so that everyone can fully participate in the patients’ recovery. You surgeon's office will provide this valuable booklet to you.
