ABOUT THE PROVIDER

At Beebe Healthcare

Cory Heller, FNP, is family nurse practitioner who sees patients in Beebe’s Walk-In Care Centers located across Sussex County. He evaluates and treats acute conditions that are not life-threatening, yet require prompt medical attention. Cory conducts physical assessments, orders tests and interprets results, and creates treatment plans for patients who present at the clinics in need of care for minor injuries and illnesses. He believes in the importance of holistic care and takes the time to educate patients about their conditions and steps they should take to heal and recover, efficiently. Cory sees patients ranging in age from six months to the elderly.

Education, Training, and Credentialing

Cory completed his Associate’s degree in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing – all from Saint Joseph’s University (formerly Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences) located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Cory is board certified as a nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Earlier Work Experiences

Prior to joining Beebe, Cory worked as a primary care provider and nurse practitioner for Cedar Tree Family Practice in Millsboro. Before that, he worked as a registered nurse for Bright Star Home Health, with focus on home-based infusion therapy services. Earlier in his career, Cory worked for Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine, where he served as a nurse of various hospital units and cared for medical/surgical, oncology, and intensive care patients over time.

Personal Notes

Cory enjoys fishing and crabbing in Love Creek, and visiting Cape Henlopen State Park for beach time. He and his husband grow their own milkweed and are passionate about protecting pollinating insects – especially Monarch butterflies. They can often be found out and about, finding wild eggs and caterpillars, which they work to keep safe through the larva and pupa stages so they can eventually be released as adult butterflies.
