Volunteer at Beebe Healthcare

"The happiest people are those who lose themselves in service to others."

Our volunteers are known for their caring and selfless acts of kindness. Our dedicated and amazing volunteers are essential team members.

As a volunteer, you are a community ambassador for Beebe Healthcare, demonstrating our vision and values. Our volunteers are often the first person greeting individuals entering our facilities, the friendly voice answering the telephone and the extra support helping our staff with patients. We offer diverse assignments that make a difference and have a lasting, positive impact with our patients, visitors and staff.

We appreciate your consideration of a rewarding volunteer opportunity at Beebe to share your time, talent and compassion.

All Volunteers are Required To:

  • Receive an annual flu shot
  • Complete lab work for TB (tuberculosis), immunity statuses on MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and Varicella (chicken pox)
  • Pass a State and Federal background check
  • Complete annual mandatory education requirements

Volunteer background checks and lab work are free of charge and completed at Beebe.

GENERAL ADULT VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Beebe Healthcare’s adult program is for anyone 18+ who is not currently a student. There are many volunteer opportunities at many of our sites around Sussex County. We strive to match the assignment to the volunteer’s interests and skills. We love the diversity of our volunteer team and rely on the talents that they bring. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one (1) 4-hour shift a week and/or a minimum of 75 hours a year. Volunteering at Beebe is a great way to become familiar with the community healthcare system and meet like-minded individuals.

Opportunities include:

  • Beebe Healthcare - Volunteering as a Patient Aide, Patient Guide, or Office Assistant to support one of our many departments and sites throughout Sussex County.
  • Beebe Healthcare Auxiliary - Founded in 1936 with the sole purpose of promoting and advancing the welfare of Beebe and its patients. The Auxiliary members accomplish this purpose by volunteering in the Gift Shop, the Arts & Crafts group, and various fundraiser events throughout the year.
  • Beebe Medical Foundation - Established in 1989, Beebe Medical Foundation has been raising money to help our independent, not-for-profit hospital. Beebe Healthcare could not serve our growing community without local philanthropy and volunteer support.
