Peer Support Services

Peer Support Specialists bring lived experience in recovery. Through specialized training and personal understanding, they provide one-on-one support grounded in empathy, respect, and empowerment. Peers meet individuals where they are and walk alongside them in recovery.

Support can begin during hospitalization or following an outpatient visit and continues for as long as it is desired. There is no cost and no time limit. Services may include simple weekly check-ins or the development of a comprehensive recovery plan tailored to individual goals. Peers remain actively involved through every stage of recovery, including relapse, offering steady encouragement and connection.

Peer Support can include:

  • Weekly check-ins or full recovery planning
  • Ongoing support through all recovery phases
  • Weekly virtual recovery meetings
  • Support and resources for family members
  • Help accessing treatment such as:
    • Detox & inpatient treatment
    • IOP (Intensive Outpatient Programs)
    • PHP (Partial Hospitalization Programs)
    • MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment)

Peer Support is free, with no time limits, and available as long as support is wanted. Interested? Call the Peer Program office at 302-645-3264.

In Their Words

I chronically relapsed - I had to be their problem child.  For many years, the Peers were compassionate, patient and their help was life changing. Today I am not only sober, but healthier, stronger and more at peace than ever.  I continue to be supported by the Peers and attend their weekly recovery meeting.

Beebe’s Peer Recovery Program helped me get sober after struggling for over thirty years. The Peers arranged for me to get a scholarship for a 28-day in-patient rehabilitation center. I rediscovered there is joy, laughter and friendship in sober living. Today I am sober and continue to have support from the Peer program.

Wound Care

Wound care is one of the most critical services provided by Beebe’s Mobile Health Clinic Team. Many wounds seen in the community are linked to complications from substance use disorder, particularly involving xylazine (commonly called tranq), a dangerous veterinary tranquilizer increasingly found in illicit drugs.

What You Should Know About Xylazine

  • Not approved for human use
  • Causes slow or non-healing wounds, even without injection
  • Can lead to serious complications requiring medical care

For more information, download our printable resources with overdose prevention and wound care tips specific to xylazine.

Patients needing further wound management may be referred to Beebe Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine, either by a primary care provider or through Beebe's Community Mobile Health Clinic.
