ABOUT THE PROVIDER

At Beebe Healthcare
Gwen Davis, MSN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, is a Population Health Nurse Practitioner at Beebe Healthcare. She serves as the medical/psychiatric provider on Beebe’s Community Mobile Health Clinic, which travels to communities across Sussex County with a goal to make healthcare more accessible for all. Gwen provides assessments and evaluations with a focus on harm reduction and health education. As needed, she facilitates referrals to Beebe’s behavioral health specialists. In addition, Gwen works with adults struggling with substance use and provides medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) to help those battling addiction.

Education, Training, and Credentialing
Gwen received her Associate degree in Nursing from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, and her Bachelor's and Master of Science degrees in Nursing from George Mason University Nursing & Health Studies, in Fairfax, Virginia. She also obtained post-master’s certification as a Psychiatric Mental Nurse Practitioner at George Mason University. Gwen is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Additionally, she is a licensed Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Earlier Work Experiences
Gwen’s experience spans more than three decades, with much of her career focused on addressing mental health needs in community health settings. Prior to joining Beebe, she served as a Family Nurse Practitioner and later a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for children, adolescents, and adults at Health Works for Northern Virginia. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner for Insight Into Action Therapy in Virginia, where she focused on addiction medicine and dual diagnosis treatment. Gwen began her career as a staff nurse in several hospitals located in the Washington, DC, and northern Virginia areas.

Personal Interests
Gwen is excited about her unique population health role at Beebe, as it combines all of her professional experiences and allows her to help people with mental and behavioral health disorders. When she’s not working, Gwen enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and family, yoga, cycling, rowing, water activities, and sharing good food and good times with friends.
