ABOUT THE PROVIDER
Imtiaz Khokhar, MD, FACP, FHM, is a hospitalist employed by Beebe Medical Group. He cares for patients admitted to Beebe Healthcare, providing oversight during the processes of admission, treatment, radiology and lab work-ups, and discharge. Dr. Khokhar is a trusted resource on Beebe’s medical staff, offering consultative support to physicians from various sub-specialties as patients with complex medical issues present for care. He is proud to be part of Beebe Healthcare, where he has an opportunity to leverage his knowledge and expertise to provide a high level of quality care for patients, with focus on helping each optimize their quality of life.
Education, Training, and Credentialing
Dr. Khokhar earned his medical degree at the University of Karachi, Sindh Medical College in Pakistan. He went on to complete an internship and residency training at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine/Flushing Hospital Medical Center, followed by a clinical fellowship focused on geriatric medicine at New York Medical College/Westchester County Medical Center.
Earlier Work Experiences
Dr. Khokhar has been practicing since 1996, and was initially focused on internal medicine before transitioning his focus to hospitalist-based care. Throughout his career, he has worked for various well-respected hospitals and healthcare organizations in New York, Georgia, and Florida, before relocating to Sussex County, Delaware and officially becoming part of the Beebe Healthcare team in 2022. Prior to joining Beebe, he was a member of the Travel Team Hospital group, which gave him opportunities to work with hospitals in various cities in New York, as well as Bayhealth Medical Center.
Outside of work, Dr. Khokhar enjoys traveling and is especially passionate about meeting new people from different cultures, and exploring culturally-unique foods from around the world. In his lifetime, he has visited 68 different countries, with many visits devoted to medical mission work. Dr. Khokhar has volunteered his time to these initiatives as a way of making a personal contribution to humanity at large.
