Jerome M. Maxfield, ANP

Jerome Maxfield, CRNP, is a nurse practitioner who specializes in oncology and hematology at Beebe Healthcare. Through Beebe’s Oncology Healthcare Continuum, he provides comprehensive care for adult patients diagnosed with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, from the time of diagnosis through treatment, recovery, and survivorship. Patients with benign hematology can also rely on Jerome for care. His work centers around building relationships with patients and their families and supporting them throughout the treatment journey, while being part of a collaborative care team that delivers evidence and research-based medicine.

Education, Training, and Credentialing

Jerome is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, where he earned a Master of Science in Nursing. Before that, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, located in Ohio. He is certified in oncology and biotherapy by the Oncology Nursing Society and has served as a Clinical Trials Support Unit Researcher for the National Cancer Institute.

Earlier Work Experiences

Prior to joining Beebe, Jerome was part of the oncology nurse practitioner hospitalist team at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, an affiliate of Penn State Health. Earlier in his career he worked for a number of hospitals and healthcare institutions across Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, including WellSpan Ephrata Cancer Center, the Einstein Healthcare Network, the Network Office of Research and Innovation, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, Greater Baltimore Medical Center, ChristianaCare, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Maryland Medical Center, and MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. Jerome also served as a member of the United States Navy in the 1980’s.

Outside of work, Jerome enjoys spending time with his wife, Alicia, salsa dancing, reading, and traveling.
