Karen West, MSN, CNM, is a Certified Nurse Midwife who practices at Beebe Healthcare. She sees patients at Beebe Women’s Health Rehoboth and also works on the hospital’s labor and delivery unit, caring for women as they experience the birthing process. Karen is a trusted resource and care provider for women throughout their reproductive lifespan; she sees patients from adolescence through the menopause years, offering sexual and reproductive health care, family planning and contraception, prenatal and postpartum care, well woman exams, treatment for hormonal disorders, and care and symptom management during perimenopause and menopause. 

Education, Training, and Credentialing

Karen earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Chico, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, where she concentrated on nurse midwifery. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses.

Earlier Work Experiences

Prior to joining Beebe, Karen worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife at The Birth Center in Newark, Delaware. Before that she served as a registered nurse on the labor and delivery unit at Bayhealth Medical Center.

Personal Notes

In her free time, Karen enjoys relaxing on the beach, yoga, gardening, and spending time in nature. She was born at Beebe and grew up in Lewes, so she is grateful for the opportunity to serve the community that she has always called home.
