Melissa Woody, MSN-FNP, BSN, RN, is a Nurse Practitioner who works at Beebe’s Walk-In care clinics. She assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients with a wide range of acute conditions that require prompt medical attention but are not life-threatening. Melissa performs a number of minor procedures for patients presenting in urgent care clinics, including wound management, suturing, incision management and draining, and splinting. She also provides immunizations. Melissa sees both children (over the age of six months) and adults of all ages.

Education, Training, and Credentialing

Melissa’s nursing education began at the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe, with completion of a Nursing Diploma. She went on to earn both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of Delaware. Melissa is a member of the American Nurses Association, the Delaware Nurses Association, and the Margaret H. Rollins Alumni Association.

Earlier Work Experiences

Melissa has devoted her career to Beebe and has worked on various units of the hospital. Earlier in her career, she served as a registered nurse on the Stepdown/Telemetry Unit, in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab Holding Area, and on the Progressive Care Unit, before joining the Walk-In care team.

Personal Notes

Melissa enjoys taking long walks with an iced coffee in hand. She loves listening to live music with family and friends, reading mystery books, cooking, and relaxing at home with her fiancé, Mike, and their two pets – a puppy named Marco and a kitten named Linguine.
