Muhammad Khan, MD, MBBS, is a cardiologist and lipidololgist at Beebe Healthcare. As a lipid specialist, he sees many patients with difficult-to-control cholesterol levels and inherited risk factors that require long-term monitoring and management. Additionally, as a general cardiologist, Dr. Khan diagnoses and treats a wide range of cardiovascular conditions including arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease (heart attack), hypertension, syncope, and heart failure. Education, Training, and Credentialing
Dr. Khan earned his medical degree at the Khyber Medical College located in Pakistan. He went on to complete a clinical internship at Hayatabad Medical Complex in Pakistan, before relocating to the U.S. His training continued with an observership at West Virginia University, followed by an externship and research assignment at Virginia Commonwealth University. Following those experiences, Dr. Khan pursued internship and residency training at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Pennsylvania, then completed his clinical training with a heart failure fellowship at University Hospitals in Ohio and general cardiology fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Pennsylvania. He is board certified in internal medicine and is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American College of Physicians, Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics, and the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America.
Earlier Work Experiences
While pursuing his internship, residency, and fellowship training, Dr. Khan was active with numerous research and teaching activities. Additionally, he was appointed as a manuscript reviewer for The Cureus Journal of Medical Science.
Personal Notes
Dr. Khan enjoys exercising, spending time at the beach, being outdoors, and exploring new places. He also enjoys playing sports, especially cricket and soccer. He is fluent in Pashto and Urdu.
