Stephen Israel, MSN, AGACNP-BC, is an experienced nurse practitioner at Beebe Healthcare, specializing in neurology, emergency medicine, and acute care. Education, Training, and Credentialing

Stephen earned a Master of Science in Nursing as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Walden University. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts and is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care.

Earlier Work Experiences

Before joining Beebe, Stephen practiced at TPMG Newport News Neurology in Virginia, where he conducted detailed neurological evaluations to address clinical issues ranging from complex migraine disorders to relapsing-remitting Multiple Sclerosis. Prior to that, he served as a hospitalist with Bayview Physicians Group at the Sentara hospital chain, managing a wide spectrum of acute medical conditions and leading a multidisciplinary group that facilitated care tailored to each patient’s needs. Stephen’s foundational clinical experience includes work as a stroke and trauma-certified registered nurse and emergency medical technician, which allowed him to develop a strong base in emergency and critical care medicine.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Stephen enjoys spending time outdoors—whether camping, cycling, or simply relaxing at home with his wife, child, and their pets. As a lifelong learner, he enjoys stretching his mind with personal interests outside of medicine such as carpentry and electrical work. These interests reflect his appreciation for diversity, balance, wellness, and quality time with family.
