Beebe Healthcare at CAMP Rehoboth brings convenient, patient-centered care to downtown Rehoboth Beach. Located in CAMP Rehoboth's Health Suite, this partnership expands access to services including HIV and STI screening, PrEP support, vaccinations, care coordination, and health education in a welcoming, affirming environment for patients 18 and over. Plans are also underway to expand services at a larger downtown location at 39 Baltimore Ave., offering even greater access to primary care, telehealth, and additional clinical services year-round.

Services Available

The Health Suite currently offers:

• PrEP services
• HIV screening and counseling
• Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) screening and treatment
• Select Vaccinations
• Care coordination and referrals
• Health education and outreach

Expanded Access to PrEP

One of the unique services offered through the Health Suite is a co-pharmacist-led PrEP program.

You will receive a written prescription from the on-site pharmacist, which you can then have filled at a pharmacy of your choice. Alternatively, if you choose an injectable form of PrEP, the pharmacist can administer that. The pharmacist can prescribe PEP and Doxy PEP.

PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a medication that helps prevent HIV infection in people who may be at increased risk. Under a new Delaware law, specially trained pharmacists can play a larger role in helping patients access PrEP. This makes it easier and more convenient to receive prevention services, education, follow-up care, and ongoing monitoring.

STI and HIV Testing Information

When Should I Get Tested?

It's important to get tested as soon as possible if:

• You have had unprotected sexual contact.
• A partner tells you they have an STI.
• You believe you may have been exposed to HIV or another sexually transmitted infection.

What Tests Are Available?

Chlamydia and Gonorrhea Testing

We offer testing for chlamydia and gonorrhea. These tests must be sent out for processing and may include:

• Urine samples
  • Most urine samples can be collected during your visit at the Suite; in certain situations, urine samples may be required to be provided at a laboratory. 
• Throat (pharyngeal) swabs
• Rectal swabs

Once lab results are received, if they show an infection, we will provide chlamydia and gonorrhea treatment and discuss partner treatment options.

HIV Testing

Rapid HIV testing is available using a small blood sample collected from a finger stick. Testing is done on-site and results are typically available in approximately 20 minutes.

Please note that finger-stick testing is only used for rapid HIV screening. If a rapid HIV test is reactive (positive), additional blood testing will be needed to confirm the result.

Additional Testing

Depending on your needs, you may also be referred for laboratory testing, including:

• Syphilis testing
• Hepatitis A testing
• Hepatitis B testing

These tests require a blood draw.

Preparing for Your Appointment

If you plan or need to be tested for chlamydia or gonorrhea, you may be asked to provide a urine sample.

• Do not urinate for at least one hour before your appointment.
• Avoid sexual intercourse for at least one hour before testing.

Confidential Care

Counseling and confidential HIV and STI testing are provided by trained staff who are sensitive to your needs and concerns. Our team is committed to providing respectful, supportive, and judgment-free care.

If you have positive test results requiring specialty care, Beebe staff will help coordinate and expedite referrals to Beebe Infectious Disease as needed.

Insurance Information

If you have any of the following insurances, you must be seen by one of our physicians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants for your first visit at the Health Suite at CAMP Rehoboth. Follow up appointments can be made with any of our clinicians.

Before You Arrive

To help make your visit faster and more convenient:

• Complete your eCheck-In before arrival whenever possible.
• You should receive a text message, email, or MyChart notification with instructions for completing eCheck-In in advance.

Payment Information

You may receive a bill in the mail or an electronic statement if you have a balance after services are provided and applicable insurance has processed your claim. Payments can be made through MyChart or by calling Beebe Customer Service at 302-645-3546, who can also assist with any questions about your bill and/or account balance. 

Please note: Payments are not accepted at the Suite.

Waiting Area

The Health Suite does not have a waiting room.

• Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time.
• You will receive a call from a member of our care team when they are ready to see you in the Suite.
• We ask that you wait to enter the Suite until your appointment time to help protect patient privacy and because space is limited.

Parking

Parking is free in Rehoboth Beach for much of the year. However, parking meters and permit requirements are in effect from May 15 through September 15, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
