Beebe Medical Group Welcomes Drs. Rajinder Prasad and Ehtasham Qureshi, Strengthening the Cardiovascular Institute
Beebe Healthcare and Beebe Medical Group are pleased to announce that Rajinder Prasad, MD, and Ehtasham Qureshi, MD, two longtime cardiologists serving Sussex County, will join Beebe Medical Group beginning in November 2026.
The addition of Drs. Prasad and Qureshi marks a significant milestone in the continued growth of the Cardiovascular Institute at Beebe Healthcare, enhancing access to comprehensive and coordinated heart care for the community. Patients will continue receiving care from the physicians they know and trust while benefiting from greater coordination and connectivity across the healthcare system.
"As Sussex County continues to grow, so does the need for comprehensive cardiovascular care," said David A. Tam, MD, MBA, CPHE, FACHE, President & CEO of Beebe Healthcare. "Dr. Prasad and Dr. Qureshi have earned the trust of patients for many years, and we are thrilled they are joining Beebe Medical Group to help us meet the growing healthcare needs of today and for years to come."
The transition also brings an important message to the community: Drs. Prasad and Qureshi are remaining in Sussex County and will continue caring for the patients and families they have served for many years.
The Ocean View practice is anticipated to open in November 2026, with a Lewes location planned to follow in January 2027. Patients wishing to be added to a future appointment contact list should call the Beebe Patient Access and Referral Center at 302-645-3332. Staff members will be taking your name, phone number, and demographic information to contact you when we are scheduling in both Ocean View and Lewes.
“We want Sussex County patients to know that Dr. Prasad and Dr. Qureshi are staying right here,” said Cary Marble, Chief Administrative Officer of Beebe Medical Group. “They have dedicated their careers to caring for patients in Sussex County, and we're excited to welcome them to Beebe Medical Group. Their decision reflects a shared commitment to keeping exceptional cardiovascular care local and accessible.”
Both physicians have been valued members of Beebe Healthcare's Medical Staff and have played significant roles in advancing cardiovascular care throughout southern Delaware.
Dr. Prasad is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and nuclear cardiology. He received his medical degree from Indira Gandhi Medical College and completed his residency and fellowship training at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He has served patients throughout Sussex County for more than two decades and currently serves as Medical Director of Beebe's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
"I am honored to join Beebe Medical Group and look forward to continuing to care for the patients and families who have placed their trust in me throughout the years," said Rajinder Prasad, MD.
Dr. Qureshi is a board-certified Interventional Cardiologist trained at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York and at Mainline Health in Philadelphia area who currently serves as Chair of Beebe Healthcare’s Department of Cardiology and Medical Director of Interventional Cardiology. In addition to establishing a strong heart-attack care program at Beebe, he has been instrumental in developing and growing interventional cardiovascular services throughout Sussex County and expanding access to advanced procedures like TAVR and WATCHMAN close to home.
“This is an exciting opportunity to strengthen collaboration across our cardiovascular teams and continue advancing high-quality heart care for the communities we serve,” said Dr. Qureshi. “By bringing physicians, technology, and support services closer together, we can further enhance the patient experience while maintaining the highest standards of cardiovascular care.”
As members of Beebe Medical Group, Drs. Prasad and Qureshi will practice within Epic and MyChart, helping further streamline communication among fellow clinicians, strengthen care coordination, and create a more seamless experience for patients, which is the ultimate goal of starting the Cardiovascular Institute in 2025.
“The Cardiovascular Institute at Beebe Healthcare is being built around a vision of connected, team-based cardiovascular care grounded in evidence-based practice and designed to deliver exceptional outcomes and experiences for patients," said Paul Sierzenski, MD, Chief Physician Executive, Beebe Healthcare. “Bringing Dr. Prasad and Dr. Qureshi into Beebe Medical Group strengthens that vision by further connecting physicians, services, and technology in a way that creates a more seamless experience for patients while advancing the future of cardiovascular care in Sussex County.”
