Shaelee O’Reilly, RN, Wins DAISY Award for Nursing Excellence Based on Nomination from Grateful Patient
Beebe Healthcare is pleased to recognize Shaelee O’Reilly, RN, as the recipient of a DAISY Award for Nursing Excellence. She was nominated for this award by a patient who was grateful for the care she and her family received during the birth of their child on Beebe Healthcare’s Women’s Health Unit.
“Shaelee cared for our baby, our room, and our family with incredible attention and compassion,” wrote the patient. “She made us feel seen, valued, and genuinely cared for. On a day when she was not even scheduled to work in the area where we were staying, Shaelee still made it a point to come say hello and visit with us and our new baby. Those moments meant the world to us and showed that her compassion extends far beyond the requirements of her job.”
Beebe recognizes a nurse each month with the prestigious DAISY Award. It honors the extraordinary compassion, clinical skill, and dedication that nurses demonstrate in their day-to-day work. The Foundation was established years ago by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, a patient who died in the late 1990s due to complications surrounding an autoimmune disease. His family established the DAISY Foundation as a way of keeping his memory alive while also recognizing the value of nurses who care, in hospitals across the country and the globe.
Beebe accepts nominations for DAISY Awards on an ongoing basis. Patients, family members, and staff are encouraged to nominate nurses who are deserving by visiting www.beebehealthcare.org/forms/daisy-award.
