Darra O. Markland, PA-C

At Beebe Healthcare Darra Markland, PA, is a physician assistant who is part of Beebe Medical Group’s general surgery team. In this role, she assists with surgical cases and performs procedures at the bedside, along with pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments. Darra collaborates with surgeons to provide care for patients undergoing both elective and urgent/emergent procedures.

Education, Training, and Credentialing
Darra earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is also a graduate of the University of Delaware, where she earned a Bachelor of Science with Cum Laude Honors as an Exercise Physiology major.

Darra is Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) certified and is Practical Emergency Airway Management trained. Additionally, she is certified in Plant-Based Nutrition through Cornell University.

Earlier Work Experiences
Prior to joining Beebe Healthcare, Darra worked for Delaware Cardiovascular Associates as a cardiology physician assistant. Earlier in her career, she worked for Beebe – first as a primary care physician assistant in the Internal Medicine Department and as part of the Walk-In Care provider team, and later in the Intensive Care Unit as a critical care physician assistant.

Personal Notes
Darra is excited to once again be part of Beebe Healthcare, where she has the opportunity to serve the community she considers home. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Donny, and their golden retriever, Andie. Her personal interests include traveling, living an active lifestyle, and continuously learning about nutrition in medicine.
