Dean L. Mittman, MD

Dean Mittman, MD, is a board-certified general dermatologist who practices at Beebe Healthcare. He has a specialized interest in caring for patients diagnosed with precancerous and cancerous skin lesions. In line with those interests, Dr. Mittman advocates for early detection of skin cancer and offers comprehensive skin exams that aim to identify and address abnormalities, as quickly as possible. In the event that a patient is diagnosed with skin cancer, he provides prompt, comprehensive treatment with a goal to prevent the spread of disease. Additionally, Dr. Mittman cares for adult patients with a wide range of skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis, poison ivy, and warts.

Education, Training, and Credentialing

Dr. Mittman earned his medical degree at Drexel University Medical College located in Philadelphia, then completed an internship in internal medicine at the Graduate Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. After that, he completed residency training in dermatology at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Mittman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Earlier Work Experiences

Prior to joining Beebe Healthcare, Dr. Mittman worked as a staff dermatologist at Mercy Hospital and Clinics located in Springfield, Missouri. Earlier in his career, he worked for Geisinger Health System in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Personal Notes

After spending time throughout his life in Rehoboth Beach for vacations, Dr. Mittman was thrilled to have an opportunity to relocate from Missouri to the east coast and call one of his favorite beach towns his new home. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his three young granddaughters, playing tennis, biking, and photography.
