Erin E. Royal, MD

Erin Royal, MD, is a family medicine physician who practices at Beebe Medical Group. She sees patients of all ages at Beebe Family Practice King Row Street, with focus on the treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, as well as preventive care. Dr. Royal is an especially valuable resource for women in the community as they aim to improve their overall health and wellness throughout the phases of their lifetimes. She provides contraception options and education, guidance on long-acting reversible contraception, and women’s preventive healthcare exams.

Education, Training, and Credentialing
Dr. Royal is a graduate of the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She went on to complete the Christiana Care Family Medicine Residency Program, where she served in several leadership roles including Chief Resident, Recruitment Committee Chair, and Wellness Committee Chair. Dr. Royal is also a graduate of the University of Delaware, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies through the Medical Scholars Program. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Delaware Institute of Medical Education and Research, and the Delaware Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa’s Academic Honor Society.

Earlier Work Experiences
Dr. Royal’s robust medical training gave her well-rounded and diverse clinical experience in adult and pediatric hospital settings, outpatient practices, nursing homes, and women’s health clinics. While pursing her medical degree and family medicine residency training, Dr. Royal completed the American Academy of Family Physicians’ leadership program for chief medical residents, as well as the Achieving Competency Today (ACT) and Leadership Excellence Education (LEED-R) programs. Additionally, Dr. Royal was an active participant on several clinical research projects and served as a resident instructor for Thomas Jefferson University.

Personal Interests
Dr. Royal considers it a true honor to work for Beebe, for personal reasons: it is where she was born! She always aspired to return to Sussex County and provide primary care services in the community that she cares passionately about. Outside of work, Dr. Royal enjoys exploring Delaware state parks, driving on the beach, and venturing out to local restaurants and shops. She values quality time with her family and dogs, and the opportunity to travel to new places and have new experiences. Dr. Royal also enjoys skiing, hiking, and playing tennis.
