Melissa Galloway, FNP

Melissa Galloway, MSN, FNP-BC, is a nurse practitioner who specializes in family medicine at Beebe Medical Group. She sees patients in the walk-in care setting, diagnosing and treating upper respiratory illnesses, ear infections, urinary tract infections, minor injuries, and other acute conditions that require medical attention but are not considered to be life-threatening emergencies. Many of the patients Melissa sees have been diagnosed with chronic medical issues such as congestive heart failure, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and asthma. She cares for patients of all ages.

Education, Training, and Credentialing

Melissa is a graduate of Wilmington University, where she earned a Master of Science in Nursing. She also completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Misericordia University, located in Pennsylvania. Melissa is a registered nurse through the Delaware State Board of Nursing and is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Earlier Work Experiences

Before joining Beebe, Melissa worked as a family nurse practitioner at Georgetown Medical Associates. While pursuing her Master’s degree, she served as a student family nurse practitioner at Wilmington University, completing practicum hours in urgent care, family medicine, and child psychiatry settings, with heavy focus on patient education and health promotion strategies. Earlier in her career, Melissa worked as a travel registered nurse for General Healthcare Resources and as a registered nurse for Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.

Personal Interests

When she is not working, Melissa enjoys spending quality time with her husband, who is also a family nurse practitioner, and their baby. The family is also excited to have baby number two, on the way!
