Signs of Forward Progress with Beebe’s South Coastal Health Campus

Beebe’s South Coastal Health Campus, which will include both an Emergency Department and Cancer Center, recently received state approval from the Delaware Health Resources Board (HRB) of their certificates of public review (CPR) application.

The primary goal for the CPR process is to control health care cost through a formal review process used to ensure public scrutiny of certain health care developments in the state. These reviews are focused on balancing concerns for access, cost and quality.

This key approval is significant to the progression of the expansion project in our South Coastal region. To celebrate this milestone, members from Beebe Healthcare’s executive staff, including Jeffrey Fried, FACHE, President & CEO; Rick Schaffner, Executive Vice President & COO; Alex Sydnor, Vice President of External Affairs; and Judy Aliquo, President & CEO of Beebe Medical Foundation, traveled down to visit the future home of the South Coastal Health Campus on Route 17 in Millville. While there, they unveiled a new “Coming Soon” sign marking the construction site signaling Beebe’s forward momentum.

On this celebratory occasion, these Beebe executives shared their thoughts and excitement:

“This is a great thing for the community here because we are bringing the same level of care that we provide in Lewes and Rehoboth to Millville and the surrounding communities,” said Mr. Fried.

“We are proud to be bringing these services to the Millville community. They’ve asked for these services, we listened and are pleased to bring them at this time,” added Mr. Schaffner.

“We are super excited to bring these new services to Millville because this community is further than any other in our service area to health care services” said Mr. Sydnor.

“We really could use community support and hope that you invest in Beebe. We are going to be here to take great care of you,” commented Ms. Aliquo.
