What Beebe Healthcare Means to Me

I moved to the Lewes area from Wilmington in 1989. Throughout the years, I have been served by Beebe Healthcare (most of those years it was called Beebe Medical Center) and affiliated doctors.

What I have found throughout those years is what I call, “A Consistently Caring Community Healthcare Organization.” It hasn’t mattered – whether it be through a phone call asking for information, dealing with the staff at doctor’s offices, the doctors themselves, or being given care at the healthcare facility, this is what I have found.

Most recently, I woke in the middle of the night with shortness of breath and heart palpitations. I should have called “911” but I didn’t. I drank some water and I was fine. I realize now how lucky I was that night.

I made an appointment the next day to see my cardiologist, Dr. Ehtashum Qureshi. I had been diagnosed as having artery blockages previously. Dr. Qureshi ordered a stress test and ultrasound. We discussed options and one was for me to have a cardiac catheterization.

I arrived at Beebe Healthcare the morning of March 2, 2016. Registration was effortless and the person that processed the registration was very kind and understanding. The nurses and other staff that helped prepare me for the procedure were excellent. I felt as if I were in good hands.

Dr. Quershi had explained that if he observed the blockages to be too much during the cardiac catheterization, he would insert a stent or stent (s). I did have one stent placed in.

Dr. Quershi checked in on me many times when I was out of recovery. He is truly consistent and caring. He really cares about his patients and I have every confidence in him.

I stayed overnight for observation. The nurse that helped me that night was so caring, and checked on me periodically to be sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed.

“A Consistently Caring Community Healthcare Organization.” That is truly what Beebe Healthcare is to me and I’m sure to many others!
