Procedures Done in Beebe's Cardiac Cath Lab
Diagnostic tests may be used if symptoms of certain heart conditions are present, such as peripheral artery disease. Other procedures performed in the cath labs treat coronary, valve/structural, congenital, and vascular conditions using catheter-based, non-surgical techniques.
During cardiac catheterization, the physician inserts a catheter through the arm or leg to look inside the heart and assess any damage or treat or repair a condition. In most cases, cardiac catheterization does not require an extended hospital stay.
