According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 190,000 Americans have been diagnosed with diabetes. In addition, it is estimated that another 84.1 million Amercians have prediabetes and are living with symptoms but have not been diagnosed yet.
Diabetes is considered a chronic condition, which means that it is an ongoing condition that people have to learn to live with. There are two types of diabetes - type 1 and type 2.
In our Diabetes & You series, you can select the type of diabetes information you want to receive. There are three categories of information:
- Learning About Diabetes: For those who have symptoms of diabetes or prediabetes, who have been newly diagnosed, or who have a family history.
- Diabetes Technology: For those who are living with diabetes who are interested in research and new technology available to better help you manage your condition.
- Diabetes Meal Planning: For those who are interested in learning about healthy meal planning and cooking for diabetes.
