Each resident is required to participate in a weekend staffing service commitment as part of a longitudinal rotation. Each resident will staff every third weekend (two eight-hour shifts) beginning in August after orientation has been completed and will continue through the end of the residency. Staffing hours are applied towards the guidelines set forth in the ASHP Duty Hour Requirements.
Each resident will complete a research project during the residency year. Pharmacy residents will meet with preceptors during orientation to discuss research project ideas. Upon topic selection residents will work with their project advisors in that practice area. A poster will be presented at the ASHP Midyear Meeting and a final presentation will be given at the Eastern States Residency Conference. Residents will also compose a final manuscript.
Yes, office space is provided for each resident. Each resident also will receive a laptop computer.
