Beebe Healthcare Celebrates DAISY Award Winner During Nurses Week
Beebe Healthcare is pleased to announce during Nurses Week that Candy Pollander, RN, has earned a prestigious DAISY Award.
This award is presented to nurses who go above and beyond the call of duty, with a commitment to clinical excellence and the delivery of compassionate care for patients.
Pollander is a registered nurse who cares for patients in the cardiac cath lab. Her ability to blend skilled nursing care with heartfelt empathy truly represents the spirit of the DAISY Award.
“Candy was my nurse responsible for prepping me for the procedure. Her professionalism and kindness put me at ease for what to me was a scary procedure,” the nominator wrote. “I will always be grateful for her efforts and kindness that day.”
Please join Beebe in congratulating Pollander for this well-deserved recognition. Her work highlights the power of nursing, and the difference one compassionate caregiver can make every day.
During a surprise celebration, Pollander received a DAISY certificate and a hand-carved Healer’s Touch sculpture, inscribed with the words “In deep appreciation of all you do, who you are, and the incredibly meaningful difference you make in the lives of so many people.”
The DAISY Award is presented at hospitals across the United States in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died in 1999 from complications of an autoimmune disease. The care Patrick received inspired a new way of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients.
