Millsboro Nursing Student Awarded Dr. and Mrs. Anis Saliba Scholarship

Sheena Stevenson, a Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing senior student, was selected as this year’s recipient of the Dr. and Mrs. Anis Saliba Scholarship. This year’s award of $1,000 will go toward school expenses.

This endowment was initiated by Dr. Anis and Mrs. Susan Saliba in 2017 and is awarded annually for the fall semester to a senior student in Beebe Healthcare’s Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing.

Dr. Saliba joined the Medical Staff at Beebe Healthcare as a surgeon in 1968, joined the Beebe Medical Center Board of Directors in 1988, and served as Chief of Staff for many years before retiring as a private practice surgeon in 2003. He is a emeritus member on the Board of Directors and is an honorary member of the Medical Staff.

Mrs. Saliba was a strong advocate for community health, helping Beebe develop protocols to recognize victims of domestic violence. She served on the board of Prevent Child Abuse Delaware and promoted women’s health as President of the Delaware Medical Alliance.

“I am so grateful to the Dr. Saliba and Mrs. Saliba for their strong and loyal commitment to medical education here in our community.” said Tom Protack, President of Beebe Medical Foundation, “Their legacy giving for so many years is inspirational and has encouraged others to do the same.”

Stevenson, of Millsboro, was selected by the N102 team and then approved by the Student Services Committee. She has a bachelor’s degree in Textile and Apparel Studies.
