The Nursing Assistant Program at Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare is for caring, competent individuals who would like to pursue a career in healthcare. Nursing Assistant Program graduates work in acute and long-term care settings and home care.

Skills learned include effective communication; promoting a safe, clean, healthy environment; providing basic nursing care; vital sign measurement; hygiene; ambulation and proper positioning; nutrition; collection of specimens; and other duties as directed by the RN.

Graduates of this program will be prepared to take the Certified Nursing Assistant Examination. Certification as a Nursing Assistant is one of the prerequisites for an individual to continue his or her education at The School of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse.

The program cost includes the course, clinical fees, textbook, and the Nursing Assistant Certification Exam fee. Additional fees which are the responsibility of the student are $69 for fingerprinting, $25 for CPR online, meals and uniforms. Payment plans for the course is available. The Nursing Assistant Program is approved by the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services Division of Long Term Care.
