The Jean & Joan Golf Tournament committee recently presented the Beebe Medical Foundation with a donation of $37,100 for Beebe Healthcare’s Oncology Services Special Needs Fund from the proceeds of the 24th Annual Jean & Joan Tournament.

The annual September tournament took place at Kings Creek Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Since its founding in 1999, the outing has enabled the Jean & Joan Cancer Fund to donate more than $705,000 from tournament proceeds to support cancer care through Beebe Oncology Services. The Jean & Joan Committee, under the leadership of event chair, Cherrie Rich, hosted 120 golfers at King’s Creek and continued the tradition of raising funds for Beebe Oncology Services.

“The Jean & Joan Fund has been a long-time supporter of Beebe by raising these funds for our local nonprofit healthcare system,” said Amy Keller, Event Coordinator, Beebe Medical Foundation. “The funds they’ve raised continue the long-standing legacy of the impact on lives right here in Sussex County.”

The Fund was founded in 1999 in memory of local cancer victims Jean James and Joan Martin, and the charity tournament has been held at Kings Creek Country Club every year.

“The legacy of this tournament is truly amazing,” said Kay Young, Executive Director, Beebe Medical Foundation. “The King’s Creek Community has a beautiful culture of caring and supporting one another, and this Jean & Joan Fund empowers Beebe Oncology to deliver care and support to patients and families in need throughout Sussex County! Beebe Medical Foundation is grateful to all of the donors, sponsors, and volunteers for this special annual event.” T

he 25th Annual Jean & Joan Tournament will be held Monday, September 9, 2024, at Kings Creek Country Club.

“Our Jean & Joan Cancer Fund Committee is committed to continuing our established mission of raising funds through this tournament to support Oncology Services for the residents of Sussex County and look forward to our 25th anniversary of this event,” said Cherrie Rich, Tournament Chair.
