At its February meeting, the Beebe Medical Foundation Board of Directors welcomed Adam DiSabatino as a new board member and announced Khalil Saliba as the new Chair of the Board. Directors serve a three-year term, with the possibility of two additional consecutive terms, allowing for a total of nine years of service.

Since its establishment in 1989, Beebe Medical Foundation has secured over $151 million in philanthropic support to help fulfill Beebe Healthcare’s charitable mission—to encourage healthy living, prevent illness, and restore optimal health for those who live, work, and visit the communities it serves. As an independent, not-for-profit healthcare system, Beebe Healthcare relies on local support to continue providing high-quality care for the growing Sussex County community.

Khalil Saliba, who has served on the Board for seven years, was appointed as the new Chair. He is the President of Saliba Action Strategies and serves as a Councilman and Deputy Mayor of the City of Lewes. A longtime member of the community, Khalil’s family moved to Lewes in 1968 when his father joined Beebe as a general and thoracic surgeon.

“I have watched Beebe’s service area grow and medical care evolve for over 55 years,” said Saliba. “I am dedicated to helping Beebe continue on this path.”

When asked why he believes it is important to support Beebe, he shared: “Quality and reliable healthcare is not only critical to everyone’s personal health but to our local economy. Without a robust healthcare system, our current and future citizens may hesitate to remain part of our thriving community.”

Adam DiSabatino is a Project Manager at EDiS Company and brings valuable expertise in development and construction to the Board. His passion for supporting Beebe Healthcare stems from a desire to enhance the quality of care available to all Sussex County residents.

“My motivation to serve the Beebe Foundation and support Beebe Healthcare comes from a desire to improve the quality of care for all of Sussex County,” said DiSabatino. “The Beebe Foundation ensures a robust and enduring hospital system that is able to support Sussex County’s growing population.”

Kay Young, Executive Director of Development at the Beebe Medical Foundation, shared her enthusiasm for the Board’s leadership.

“I am pleased to welcome Khalil as the new Chair of our Beebe Medical Foundation Board and Adam as a new Board Member,” she said. “Khalil has been an integral part of the Foundation for many years, bringing invaluable leadership experience and a deep understanding of Sussex County. His insight and dedication will undoubtedly continue to guide us forward.”

Young also said that Adam also brings a wealth of vision and experience that will be instrumental as the Foundation continues to grow and meet the evolving needs of Beebe Healthcare.

“I am incredibly grateful to all our Board members for their commitment to sharing their time, talent, and resources with the Foundation team,” Young said. “Their contributions play a significant role in helping us fulfill our mission of raising funds to support Beebe Healthcare and positively impacting the community we serve.”
