Naomi Acheampong, DNP, AGACNP-BC, is an inpatient nurse practitioner who specializes in care for patients with complex neurological conditions at Beebe Healthcare. With a strong background in outpatient and inpatient vascular neurology, Naomi is recognized for her clinical expertise, compassion, and commitment to providing the highest quality patient care. She treats patients in the hospital who have experienced strokes and seizures, ensuring each receives the proper testing, care, and resources needed to be safely discharged. 

Through a unique collaboration, Naomi and her colleagues at Beebe are able to work alongside neurologists from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia to optimize care for stroke patients in Sussex County. Together, this team works at the bedside, using a specialized telehealth robot to facilitate comprehensive stroke assessments. In the event that more advanced stroke care is required, patients can seamlessly be transferred to Jefferson. 

Education, Training, and Credentialing

Naomi earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Holy Family University in Philadelphia, and her Master of Science in Nursing, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, from Thomas Jefferson University. Additionally, she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Millersville University Pennsylvania. She is a board-certified adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP) in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. 

Earlier Work Experiences

Prior to joining Beebe, Naomi worked as a vascular neurology nurse practitioner at Tower Health Reading Hospital in West Reading, Pennsylvania. She was also previously a staff nurse at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital of Neuroscience on the Intermediate Neuro ICU/Stroke unit.  

Personal Interests

Naomi is proud to work at Beebe Healthcare, an organization she believes prides itself on offering the highest quality, personalized care. She believes the best part of being part of Team Beebe is the collaboration and diverse expertise each person brings to the table. Outside of work, Naomi enjoys spending quality time with her family, especially her son. She also enjoys traveling the world and experiencing new places and cultures.
