Beebe Healthcare’s 100th anniversary celebrations came to an end with a festive celebration for volunteers

It was an evening of celebration and the sharing of bittersweet memories as Beebe Healthcare’s 100th anniversary year of celebrations came to an end. More than 100 community and employee volunteers who had participated in the planning, organizing and running of so many events and festivities joined together for the final “Gratitude Event.”

Jeffrey M. Fried, President and CEO of Beebe Healthcare, Judy Aliquo, President and CEO of Beebe Medical Foundation, Tom Protack, Vice President of Development for Beebe Medical Foundation, and 100th anniversary event coordinator Leanne Silicato Prosser thanked everyone for their hard work and commitment to Beebe’s 2016 milestone. All looked forward to Beebe’s future expansion to meet the needs of the growing community. During the evening, attendees wrote down memories from throughout the year. These were collected in a basket. Here are some of their thoughts:

“Making friends and meeting fabulous people.” -- Mary Ellen Goslin

“Meeting Dean Ornish, Beebe Beach Bash and the Baywood Golf Classic.” -- Diane Henneberg

“Attending the Georgetown Returns Day Parade.” -- Marie Adams

“…The magical night of the Lewes Christmas Parade. Our beautiful float, all lit up and the reaction of the children and spectators, their joy and rousing cheers for Beebe.” -- Jan McCarty, Co-Chair of the 100th Anniversary Committee.

“…when the plaque (for the time capsule) was placed in front of Beebe.” -- Alex Moore, grandson of Beebe co-founder Richard Beebe

“Meeting so many wonderful folks.” -- Ellen Craft

“Watching the amazing interviews during the DVD project.” Kelly Griffin

A lasting memory of the year will be the tabletop colorful history book called Two Men with a Dream: The Story of Beebe Healthcare, and a lively and heartwarming film called Voices Behind the Dream: The Story of Beebe Healthcare, both available for purchase on the website BeebeStore.

The film will be premiered on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the Milton Theatre.

The doors open at 2 p.m., with the screening to begin at 3 p.m. The premiere will include light refreshments and a cash bar. The event is free but since space is limited, reservations must be made by calling (302) 645-3468.
