Four Students at the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing Receive 2017 Louise Jarmon Hopkinson Scholarship

 

Demonstrating academic excellence, four students of Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare accept this year’s Louise Jarmon Hopkinson Scholarship.

Louise Jarmon Hopkinson was a 1932 graduate of Beebe School of Nursing. She served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and as a private duty nurse at Beebe Hospital for many years. A generous bequest from the estate of Mrs. Hopkinson provides scholarship awards for the spring semester to Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing senior and first-year students at Beebe Healthcare who have achieved academic excellence.

The Beebe Medical Foundation manages and facilitates the awarding of the Louise Jarmon Hopkinson Scholarship. The student recipients this year are:

Senior student:
• Bethany Campbell – Milford, Delaware

First-year students:
• Rebecca Tillman – Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
• Charmaine Ferebee – Frankford, Delaware
• Chelsea Lehrer – Milton, Delaware

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare, is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware, and is accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The diploma in Professional Nursing is awarded at the completion of the curriculum, qualifying graduates to be eligible for National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX examination, leading to licensure as a registered nurse. Beebe graduates consistently have high NCLEX pass rates.
